Frequently they bear no relation to the text they accompany. Illustrated with the author's own ink drawings and containing a detailed guide to crane-viewing sites in the United States and Canada, this book is at once an invaluable reference and an eloquent testimony to how much these birds truly mean. The water is shimmering and bright to the south and grey to the north. The blue crabs fight but I learnt to toss and crunch them for the taste of the sweet meat. And this is especially true with Price who has dipped deeply into exotic poetry and illustration well beyond the scope of readers with less extensive collections at their finger tips. The cranes' story starts with their arrival at Horsey in The reviewer at Christian Science Monitor, Maureen Kehe, immediately counted up how many of them she had read.
